*squee!* Oh, that epilogue was FABULOUS! Would it be wrong of me to say that the coffeehouse scenes were my favorites?

Those and the one at the shooting range. And this, this right here:"[...]I was raised on House of the Dead and fucking weaned on Duck Hunt, dude.”

BEST LINE EVER!!!

Hee thank you! It wouldn't be wrong at all, the order of these sections was giving me fits so the coffee house section almost got cut (and possibly moved to another fic) - which meant the epilogue wouldn't have gotten written at all, so hearing that is important feedback, thanks.

Hehe I liked Matt's trash talk too. I just love the idea of him being a crack-shot because of Duck Hunt - video games totally teach transferrable skills. *nods*

"[...]Would it be a really mean trick to make his a decaf? It’s getting a little late for the silver fox crowd - he’ll be up all night!”

“That’s okay,” Matt says. “I’m kinda counting on it.”

Best lines ever.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, John's epiphany was what Matt was waiting to hear, I think. He sure is a smartie. It's one of my favourite (and John's I think) things about him!

Sweet mamasita! I adore this! I am all bouncy over here. I keep trying to type what I wanna say but all that's going around in my head is EEEEE and YES! and THIS!

...*breath*

This IS Matt -- the way he speaks, thinks, reacts. I felt like I was watching it instead of reading it. The scene with Warlock and Bowman, I think, encapsulates (sp?) it best, but the whole thing is AWESOME. Adore adore adore John's monologues to comatose Matt and the realization he comes to (or finally lets himself admit.) Love Bowman who's nicely fleshed out but is still clearly the Bowman of the film, and Miranda (HAH, John in the Starbucks is awesome too)... oh, I LOVE ALL OF IT.

OH. And I love the back and forth in time format. Very very cool.

*pulls you into a giant hug and twirls you*

I've re-read this several times now. It just gets better and better. I hold that this IS Matt regardless of whether the POV is his -- I can hear him and see him. But on repeated readings I am blown away by how much JOHN this is too, his voice and his emotions and his feelings. I literally cannot express myself when trying to explain how and why I love this story so much.

*twirls you again for the heck of it*

Thanks so much! I love their voices, hearing these guys natter away at me keeps me writing them. And I'm so glad people are enoying the Starbucks scenes, makes me think I made the right decision in not cutting them for the sake of clarity or some silly detail like that! ;)
