Why? There's something weird and creepy about pairing them together when he died for her sake under the Master's reign...

Besides, she deserves someone magnificent like Jack or Sarah Jane...

Erm maybe I don't do creeped out easilly and besides Jackie and Pete got together dispite their other halfs being the parellel versions and dying, and he didn't die cos the time rewound, ok Martha will remember it but technically it didn't happen!

Anyway If not Jack is a very good bet! Unless the Dr comes to his senses and shags her sensless for as long as possible.... not that i'm hoping,;p I'll have to stick with your stories in the meantime!

Why is PS following me everywhere I join?)

That was different though, with Pete and Jackie...

I just don't think Tom's good enough for Martha and I resent the implication she needs to have a man in her life - it's as if they can only think of getting her over the crush on Ten by making her love someone else. Grr !!

As to PS, no idea - wasn't aware that was happening...

Thank you! When I read the blurb I wasn't happy at all, and for the same reason. ;-p

The fact that he was willing to die for her is a bit romantic, if mostly to Goths.

Ugh! It's not romantic to me... It's lame! Far harder to live with someone than die with them if you ask me, after all, once you're dead, that's it !

Yeah, but these were not normal times, not with the Toclafane around.

Oh I know, but even in normal times, I still don't think much of the idea of falling for someone who's died for you...

Oh, but he is magnificent because he did die for her. And come on... the guy was hot. He has testosterone (which Martha needs because she's crazy tough) and yet... he's a sweetheart.

I'm all for Tom. :)

I didn't find him hot, I'm afraid.

I agree; Tom was magnificent for what we saw of him, and they could develop him interestingly if they wanted to. But a) they won't have the space to do so, with Martha as a cameo; and b) no matter how magnificent he is, for her, there's still the dischord between reset!Tom and a reality she's already lived. That's weird, and I don't trust them to bother to address the weirdness. For me, he adds up to a "does not want" mainly because of that.

It is weird and it surprises me that more people can't see the inherent weirdness in reset!Tom/Martha...

I can definitely see the weirdness, but it does not automatcially equal wrongness to me. He was sweet, they flirted, he was brave and smart, and I think those are qualities Martha would look for. Yeah, he died for her, but given everything Martha went through in that year that was undone.... I guess one would just have to get over the weird.
Given the small amount of screen time her love interest is bound to get, at least this way the audience will know that he's pretty cool, and that Martha was interested in him when the Doctor was still a factor. ie. not total rebound.

Hmmm... I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's what and how it's handled...
