McGuffins and Bobbins GALORE!
- DT did an intro just before the episode started, telling us the Master was back and the Doctor was going to die. So, no spoilers then!
- There's the Citadel with the glass dome broken and smoke pouring out. And crashed Dalek saucers outside it.
- The President joins a handful of Time Lords - no clue as to who they might be...
- Although one of them is a visionary (?!) who has seen that Gallifrey will fall on this day - so of course, being Time Lords, they're sitting around GOSSIPING about it! o_O
- Who's that woman whom the President has just vaporised with his Magic Glove of Death (TM)?
- The visionary's seen that two Children of Gallifrey will survive the fall of Gallifey, locked in mortal enmity.
- The Soldier!Masters in China present arms VERY sloppily (I'm an army brat, I know whereof I speak).
- The Master says the Doctor likes 'playing with human women' (when he hears Donna on the phone to Wilf). Something about pots and kettles springs to mind.
- Donna starts having visions of the things she saw while travelling with the Doctor. And then regeneration energy (well, that golden glow the New Who Doctors get when they regenerate) bursts out of her and knocks down all the Masters in the street with her. And Ten tells the Master he wouldn't leave his friend without a defence mechanism. I call McGuffin!
- Ten tells Wilf that Donna will be okay, she'll just sleep for a while. Yeah, whatever Rusty...
- Ten tries to talk the Master into just travelling with him - 'cos trying to talk the Master into being reasonable worked SO WELL last time! *rolls eyes*
- Ten wonders what he'd be without the Master.
- The Master says Gallifrey childhood was all about duty, and wasn't a childhood as Wilf'd know it.
- Ten tries to talk the Master into letting him help with the drumbeat.
- Oh look, the cactus people weren't converted into Masters ('cos they're not human, obviously). I call Bobbins!
- The cactus people transport Ten and Wilf with them up to their ship.
- Wilf believes the Doctor's got 'a nice bit of the old Doctor flim-flam' up his sleeve. Says Ten's always got a plan.
- The Doctor shuts down the cactus people's ship so the Master can't find it.
- All the Masters listen to the drumbeat in his head in order to triangulate its source. Um, whatever...
- The Time Lords send the drumbeat signal back in time so that the Master will hear it when he goes in front of the Untempered Schism at the age of 8. Then the President throws a special kind of diamond that's only ever found on Gallifrey to Earth so they can establish a physical link to the Master. I call McGuffin!
- At this point Gallifrey is still trapped behind the Time Lock. (Whut? The Doctor gave the impression the Time War wasn't Time Locked until AFTER it was over! I call Bobbins!)
- Wilf's wandering around the cactus people's ship and runs into the woman in white again, who tells him that this is Ten's final battle and he could lose Earth as well as himself.
- Wilf worries he'll never visit his wife's grave again. Talks about when he was a 'skinny little idiot' in Palestine in 1948, then says Ten doesn't want to listen to an old man's stories. So the Doctor tells Wilf he's 906 (still can't count, then!).
- Wilf then observes that humans must look like insects to the Doctor, but Ten says he thinks they're giants. (Makes a change from apes, I suppose!)
- Ten tells Wilf he'd be proud if Wilf was his dad. Wilf tries to get Ten to take his revolver. The Doctor then talks about having killed people, and then says he got clever and manipulated people into killing themselves. He thinks Time Lords live too long.
- Wilf asks the Doctor what'll happen if the Master dies, and Ten says the template will snap and people will revert back to being human. Wilf begs him to take his gun to kill the Master, and begs him not to die.
- The Skeletor!Master does an open broadcast to tell the Doctor about finding the diamond, and Ten goes into panic mode, and grabs Wilf's gun from him, because he realises the Time Lords are returning.
- The President makes contact with the Master and Ten pilots the cactus people's ship to Earth. The Master prepares to blow the ship out of the sky with missiles, so the male cactus person and Wilf man the lasers to shoot down the missiles.
- The President transports the Time Lords to Earth - only 2 TLs stood against the idea. He says something about Weeping Angels (too unclear to make out what he's saying, though).
- Ten's planning to crash the alien spaceship into Naismith's mansion - then he leaps out and crashes through the glass roof, and manages not to die.
- The President refers to Ten and the Master as 'My Lord Doctor', and 'My Lord Master'.
- Wilf refuses to let the cactus people leave Ten alone, so they drop him off at Naismith's.
- The President turns all the Masters back into humans, then orders them to kneel. Then Gallifey appears in the sky, about to knock Earth out of its orbit. (The WORST kind of pseudoskience!)
- Sylvia sees Gallifrey in the sky and begs 'Oh please, Doctor'.
- The Time War will be continued on Earth as well as Gallifrey know G is back.
- The Presient's planning on the Time Lords ascending to Beings of Consciousness and for all of creation to be destroyed. I call Bobbins!
- The President prepares to kill the Master with his Magic Glove of Death (TM), and the Doctor turns Wilf's gun on him, then threatens to shoot the Master. He wavers between the two, and the Master calls him a coward and says he never would kill him.
- The Doctor shoots the machine with the McGuffin Diamond in it to break the link to the Time Lords.
- The Persident prepares to kill Ten, but the Master tells him to get out of his way and uses his SuperPower energy bolts to send the President and Time Lords back in Time. I call McGuffin and Bobbins!
- The Master's shouting angrily at the President for making him insane when he was 8 years old.
- Ten realises he's still alive, but Wilf's still trapped in the radiation chamber McGuffin, when Ten gets in to let him out, he's flooded by the massive amounts of radiation, but it doesn't kill him. The regeneration energy's starting to flood into his body, though, because he's able to heal his injuries from falling through the glass roof.
- Wilf gives Ten a hug, then Ten takes him back home, and tells him that he'll see the Doctor one more time before he goes.
- Martha's being shot at by a Sontaran. OMG! She and Mickey ARE married, and Mickey's talked Martha into going freelance (as a Defender of Earth? So what about her being a bloody Doctor then?! GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Ten turns up and smacks the Sontaran on its probic vent, and Martha spots him and tells Mickey, they watch him briefly before he disappears, then hug.
- Ten saves Luke from being run over as he's talking to Clyde on his mobile. Luke shouts for Sarah Jane, and she sees Ten heading back to the TARDIS, and gives her a little wave.
- Jack's in a cantina on a Star Wars planet - I mean, in an intergalactic bar - presumably post TW:CoE. Ten sends him a drink, and a note saying 'His name is Alonso.' When Jack looks over at Ten, he nods to Midshipman Frame who's just sitting down beside him, so Jack starts chatting up Alonso.
- Joan's identical granddaughter's in a bookshop signing copies of her book 'The Journal of Impossible Things', and Ten gets one signed, and then asks her if her grandmother was happy. She says yes, and asks 'Were you?' He gives an enigmatic smile and wanders off.
- Ten goes to Donna's wedding and Sylvia spots him, so she and Wilf go over to speak. Ten gives Wilf a wedding present for Donna. He borrowed a pound from Sylvia's husband (in the past) to buy a Lottery ticket with - and there's a triple roll-over that night. Presumably it's a winning ticket, what with him being a Time Lord.
- Wilf's crying as he waves Ten off.
- Rose and Jackie are heading back home from the pub in the early hours of January 1, 2005 and Ten speaks briefly to her, then tells her she's going to have a great year.
- The regeneration's really starting to kick in now, and Ten collapses as he's heading back to the TARDIS. Ood Sigma appears and tells him the Universe will sing him to his sleep. Sigma says this song is ending, but the story never will. This gives Ten the strength to get up and get back to the TARDIS, and he takes off his coat, then his hand starts glowing.
- Ten dematerialises the TARDIS and says 'I don't wanna go.'
- Everything starts exploding from the regeneration energy (Why?! Bobbins!!) And there are flames everywhere.
- The TARDIS is hurtling back towards the Earth, flames pouring out of it (er, in the vacuum of space? BOBBINS!)
- Eleven notes he's got legs, and kisses his knee. Then starts blathering on about having arms, hands, ears, nose, etc. Feels his hair and thinks he might be a woman, then looks at his fringe and realises he's still not ginger.
- Eleven realises the TARDIS is about to crash - and shouts Geronimo. As you would...
