It's the middle of the week - all the set up is done, so here are the aliens at last.
You know the drill - bullet points of the things that struck me during the episode.
- The world is going to hell in a handbasket, and Jack's worried about his clothes?! I know he can't die, but really?!
- Why does *anyone* in the Whoniverse trust politicians, particularly the Prime Minister?
- The funniest bit of the Torchwood-takes-to-crime scenes was Jack stealing the car - because of course Jack WOULD steal the flashiest, most conspicuous car around!
- Ianto's the son of a tailor, he ought to have a good eye for people's clothing sizes.
- Jack's back! Now he's in his 'regular' outfit...
- So Gwen has the contacts that Martha used in 'Reset', but, apparently, they've been upgraded since then.
- I don't blame Lois for being scared to death - I would be too.
- Jack felt himself being blown up. *shudders* I can see why Ianto wants to have comfort sex after that.
- Doctor mention! So, when the Doctor said Jack was a fixed point in Space and Time, he *really* meant fixed, which is why even blowing him to bits won't kill him. I really dislike Rose right now.
- Alice's mum (Jack's wife) died of natural causes? Is she the first Torchwood employee to manage that?
- Bridget Spears is jealous of Lois' supposed involvement with Frobisher. Has Frobisher had affairs with other PAs, or is she just saying that to Lois 'cos she's bitchy? (Clever of Lois to fool Spears like that - but really, Spears is incompetent!)
- The assassin lady is a hard-nosed bitch. When's she gonna die?
- Initially the 456 sound like a zoo-full of creatures - and they're throwing up? Eww! How's that better than farting Slitheen?
- The glimpses we get of the 456 makes them look like outer-space!jellyfish!
- Can't blame UNIT for being pissed off at the Government going over UNIT's heads.
- The PM (Green) is a typical British politician, insisting on Frobisher dealing with the 456 and not wanting to be seen to be involved. And I bet he's fiddling his expenses!
- Like Gwen's stunt driving!
- Interesting that Frobisher thinks Jack's 'the better man'.
- the voice that's translating from the contact lenses sounds like Jack's.
- Why do the 456 want 10% of the children of Earth?
- I'm not going to judge Jack for giving the kids to the 456 in 1965 until he explains WHY he did it. It may have been a case of sacrifice the few to save the many.
Oh, and Jack's daughter is totally kick-arse!
