Under the cut for those who've not caught up yet!
Bullet points list of things that caught my attention as I watched:
- All the school kids are WAY too photogenic!
- Jack and Ianto are seriously over-playing the sympathic neighbours stuff. If I was Rupesh, I'd be totally suspicious!
- The reference to Torchwood being a PITA made me LOL!
- Loved the shout-out to Martha (not because I'm happy about her honeymoon with Mr Invisible Husband of Invisibleness but because I'm glad to know that Jack and Martha remain in touch.)
- Gwen: A big science fiction superbase. Yes, I laughed!
- Oooh! Thames House! Where's Harry, and Adam?! (*giggles at her fandoms crossing over on screen*)
- Rhys is a damned smart cookie - I'd say he's the brains of that pair! Why the hell hasn't Jack recruited him yet?
- The PM is a git denying responsibility. Where's Barack Obama when we need him?
- I confess I laughed at the 'Civil servants invented weekends' line - it sounded Yes Ministerish.
- So, Ianto's got a sister and Jack's got a daughter and grandson (not that the latter's a surprise - I'm more surprise that Earth isn't teeming with his kids and grandkids and great-grandkids, to be honest!)
- "Have you gone bender?" Oh so very tactful, as only siblings know how to be!
- Gwen's got a sonic screwdriver-type device? Did the Doctor patent it?!
- Rupesh is a bad guy? Oh what a surprise! 'cos the non-white can never be a good guy, can they? Sheesh!
- Shit! They planted a bomb in Jack's stomach? Bloody hell fire!!
That was an explosive start to the season!
Oh, and I didn't find the kids' chanting in unison scary. Sorry...
