Death at the Bar - Picspam Recap featuring Ben Daniels

So, way back in 1990, young Mr Ben Daniels appeared alongside Patrick Malahide in The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries: Death at the Bar. He played Norman Cubitt, a painter, whose boyfriend was a cousin of the murder victim in this story. Herewith is a picspam recap of the episode. Needless to say, it contains spoilers.
It turns out that Ben Daniels was practising Tongue!Porn long before David Tennant. :P This is one of our earliest glimpses of Norman Cubitt.
This is Norman with his boyfriend Sebastian Parish (Alex Jennings, who later played James Sinclair in The State Within - which also featured Ben Daniels!) Look at those legs! (Sorry about the poor quality of the screencap - they were barely in shot for more than a few seconds without someone or something blocking our view!)

Norman and Sebastian are at the beach in Cornwall, where Sebastian (who's a thespian) is reading aloud while Norman paints his portrait.
I'm pretty much speechless here...
Sebastian reveals to Norman that they're both beneficiaries of his cousin Luke's will - which astounds Norman, but makes Sebastian suspicious because - until last year - Sebastian was Luke's sole legatee.
The pair have driven up to London to get some new clothes for Luke's funeral. Sebastian's being very snide about the quality of ties available. Norman doesn't much care though.
At the funeral it seems that Norman's more upset about Luke's murder than Sebastian, but then again, Luke's death is very timely...
- as Norman explains to Inspector Alleyn, he and Sebastian were both penniless artistes. (Although Sebastian refutes this claim, saying Norman's got an over-active imagination. It's true nonetheless - Luke had told Alleyn as much at the outset of the episode.)
Once Inspector Alleyn works out whodunnit (a man whom Luke Watchman had got sent down a few years ago), Sebastian and Norman part company, and Norman takes the train back to London. The final shot shows him sketching Alleyn.
