Doctor Who Spec - Season 4 and beyond
If you've seen the mid-season trailer, you'll know that Donna and the Doctor know that Rose is coming back - my guess is that little scene in the TARDIS is from the end of "Forest of the Dead" (next week's ep) and that it's River who's told them that Rose is coming back - since she clearly has little interest in preserving timelines, judging by all the large hints she was dropping in "Silence in the Library"...
I don't think that River Song will die at the end of 4.09 as I think she'll be back as a companion in Season 5 (together with Jenny - since it was at Steve Moffat's insistence that she was brought back to life at the end of 4.06) - and especially since RTD has apparently said he's finishing up all the companions' arcs at the end of Season 4 to give Moffat a clean slate to work on when he takes over...
Which would mean Rose and Donna either get killed or retconned (or in Rose's case returned to Pete's world). I can't see RTD killing off Rose - and I don't believe he'll kill off Donna (or should I say I REFUSE to believe it?!)
I don't think Martha will be going to Torchwood full time - in part because of Freema's other roles (Tattycoram in Little Dorrit and Jenny in the Survivors remake) - although I do think Martha will show up again in TW since filming on Survivors finishes in September, meaning she could be in some episodes they film in a later block.
I expect we'll get stunt casting for the companions for the 2009 Specials...
