haha, no i think you're pretty spot on! i mean in terms of who is best singer, who is second best, etc. i'm not sure i'd agree on kusano's rankings versus ryo's etc. but i havent seen much of kusano and i think you know more about music than i do and i'm horribly biased.

so yamapi and koyama we both know have the character for mountain in their last name.

but until i saw your pimp post, i never noticed that shige and ryo have the same character in their FIRST name too! it's the chinese character "liang" as in "shine". obviously its pronounced differently for both of their names but its kinda cool that they have the same character and that they're both from osaka.

seriously hanyee, seriously? after watching the news summary dvd and seeing the abake, i think shige's a very interesting character! AND I HAVE LIKE 2 fics about him and ryo all planned out and half-finished. HELP.

HE ADMITS ON A TV INTERVIEW THAT HIS MOM IS RYO'S FAN. LOL

As for rankings, Kusano's voice is a lot stronger/more consistent than Ryo's, from what I can tell. It has a similar sort of raspy quality as Ryo's at times, but Kusano has better control with his, I think. That's why I kind of liken him to the NewS' version of Jin. ^_^

dude, he talked about it on his jweb before too!!!!! basically all of the news moms show up one time and some meet each other. and then shige's mom goes to meet the boys and is VERY EXCITED to meet ryo. she shakes his hand, ryo offers her a seat and shige writes something like "kato shigeaki's mother is a fan of nishikido-aniki! how embarrassing!"

I think Shige is the smart type who is bad at reading people, and I think Ryo is just PLAYING WITH HIM, personally. He wouldn't deliberately tease him if he didn't like him. LOL It's like how he used to pick on Tego jokingly. XD

totally agree. i dont think any of them are being mean when they pick on shige. i think shige gets picked on for a few reasons ( ... )

HAHA But it all makes sense, and YES, I think Ryo and Shige actually sort of have an intellectual sort of bond where they are both the two that are quickest on their feet and snappiest with their tongues. So it's kind of like a competition (like I have with my family whenever I go home), just to see how fast you can be.

And Pi and Koya always tease Shige about good things, like being hot or sexy.

RYO WAS LAUGHING REALLY HARD AT THE CLOSING THE DOOR THING. I thought it was hysterical. THEY ARE TOTALLY FLIRTING and I am so glad I love NewS ORGY as my no. 1 otp now, because RyoxShige would be hot. XD

i don't know if it means something different in japanese, but in chinese?

if ryo = shining bright

and the first of the two characters that form shige - aki (i'm assuming that's how they're split here) means to accomplish/succeed/become, then

shige-aki = TO BECOME SHINING BRIGHT

TO BECOME RYO.

when i was re-looking over your line by line summary of highlights of the live concert, i noticed that the two interactions that never really happened where yamapi & massu and ryo & shige.

haha, i wasnt trying to suggest that they didnt all get along or anything. yamapi has stated that he really likes all of the news members and when you read the interviews you do get the feeling that he likes all of them. i just thought it was interesting; some of them obvisouly feel closer to some than others, its only natural. i think like in our big big group of friends i def feel closer to some than others, you know? maybe its just me.
