Never attribute to malice what could be simple error. I'm guessing whoever posted that notification bar forgot to not display it to already Paid members. After all, what purpose does it serve to ask those of us who are already Paid to upgrade beyond pissing us off. Do you really think that's what they had in mind?

Or they may have code that says "don't show this to Paid members" and that forgot entirely that Permanent members should be considered a subclass of Paid members.

I saw that, but my reaction was more "lol they forgot we exist so they forgot to screen us out of this ad" than anger.

Then I laughed even more at the part about getting 30 icons. Yes, let me sign up for this trial to get 30 icon slots! I'd only have to delete 168 to get there...

Somebody please give me a good reason why I should not send the feedback I have written and sitting in another tab, which starts out with "Please consider for a moment the true hypocrisy and gall it takes to place a screen ad across the journals of your Permanent Account holders attempting to entice us to 'try a paid account'" and goes from there...
