a/n: set after s7ep6, "Office Politics," in which Cuddy forced House to take on Amber Tamblyn's child-prodigy character Martha M. Masters (you kinda have to say it all together like that, don't you?) as part of his team.
House rolled over in bed to face Lisa. “Y’know, I think you’ve miscalculated with this Martha M. Masters, Professional Ethicist thing? Big time.”
Cuddy stretched, sighed. “We’ve been through this. She’ll bring a measure of balance to your team, and she’ll give me a little time off the ethics argument front lines.” She smiled lazily. “Time to think up inventive things to do in the off hours….”
He stopped himself from panting like a dog, focused. “One catch, though. How do you think Martha M. Masters, Professional Ethicist is going to react when she finds out the Dean of Medicine is sleeping with one of her subordinates?” He grinned lewdly. “Not that I mind being subordinate to you. Subordinate me some more, baby!”
Cuddy groaned. “There’s a good answer to that. Really. There is.” She pulled a pillow over her face. “Just give me, oh, a month or so to think it up?”
House giggled and nuzzled her neck. Winning wasn’t quite as good as sex. But it was close.
