Today I baked a small loaf of bread. I did this so I could have the perfect sandwich for lunch. I picked up some chicken spread from
Lunds. It's my second favorite chicken spread. I needed bread that was just the right combination of crusty outside, soft inside. Most store bought stuff is too dry. I ate the whole loaf.
To wash it down, my parents brought back some Dorothy's Root Beer from their trip up north last week. I had it chilling in the fridge. As a youth, I think I remember once visiting the "Root Beer Lady" on the Isle of Pines on Knife Lake, while I was in the
Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Now there's a
Dorothy Molter Museum to her memory, and to keep making her root beer. Her story is an amazing one, simple and true.
For dinner, I have a crock pot and I'm not afraid to use it. Hot lime & chicken soup with mushrooms & cilantro, here I come...
