Round 3: Merrick-Ward
Last time in the Merrick household, Leslie met and fell in love with townie Daniel Ward. He moved in and the lovebirds had 2 little daughters before getting engaged at the end of the round. This round starts off with their wedding!
Leslie and Daniel had a beautiful wedding at St. Eclair's Cathedral.
Leslie's best friend, Tracey Jackson, was the Maid of Honor while Daniel's best friend, Hugh Scott, was the Best Man.
Leslie looked absolutely stunning and was noticeably glowing!
Leslie decided to take Daniel's last name, even though their two daughters have her last name. This way I don't lose those finishing points for all women taking the man's last name AND all founding names existing at the end of the challenge!
It was a small wedding with only a few people in attendance. Tracey's fiance, Robin Moran, was there; as was Hugh's pregnant wife, Diana Scott. Leslie is good friends with Ruben Wilcox and he brought Mona Benson as his "plus one". Also, Daniel is good friends with Larke Wilcox so she came to the wedding...even though she last saw Daniel in her love tub earlier this round.
Tracey Jackson is about to get married when it's her household's turn, so she found this wedding to be extremely romantic!
I forgot that Daniel was newly pregnant (thank you aliens), but luckily he didn't barf until after the ceremony was over. Poor guy.
Daniel and Leslie were happy to have all of their friends at the wedding.
Leslie gets a hug from her Maid of Honor while Larke Wilcox watches. I can just imagine her thinking, "That's right, I woohoo'd your new husband in the love tub just a few days ago!"
I'm surprised Mona hasn't woohoo'd Daniel as well, since she's another one of my Romance sims. But doesn't Mona and Ruben make such a cute couple! Darn Mona for being a Romance sim!
And there's Hugh and Diana Scott. Diana is due any day now with the couple's 2nd child; well 3rd child if you count the daughter that Hugh already has with Larke Wilcox.
Stealing the posed wedding picture idea from other fabulous simmers, allow me to introduce Mr. & Mrs. Daniel (and Leslie) Ward!
Here they are with their Maid of Honor and Best Man, Tracey Jackson and Hugh Scott.
And here they are with their daughters, Brooke and Hannah Merrick. Brooke and Hannah will be keeping the last name of Merrick to ensure that it lasts through to the next generation.
Back at home after the wedding, Daniel has his first alien belly pop. Get used to seeing that thinking cap, because these two seldom take them off!
And what's this? Leslie and Daniel decided to take their family planning into their own hands and Leslie turned up pregnant soon after the wedding! A little Ward baby is on the way.
But before she started showing, she was able to find a job in Architecture again (she was fired from it in a previous round). It's her LTW career, so yay!
And she gets a hobby chance card right away and is lucky. She wins some tinkering enthusiasm.
Daniel is kind of the laughing stock of the neighborhood right now. He's really the only one that wears a thinking cap almost 24/7, and definitely the only one that goes jogging with one on. He's also the only pregnant male in town, so that counts for some of it as well. However, here he's thinking, "You're really making fun of me, Miss Leafhead?" You know you've got problems when a plantsim is making fun of you.
Promotion for Leslie!
Leslie is still shocked that Daniel put a baby in her belly. Daniel, on the other hand, looks very proud of his abilities.
Pregnant bellies showing on both Mommy and Daddy, but the girls still get lots of love and attention.
Hannah has her first birthday! Her facial features are very different from her sister's, and she's lighter in complexion as well.
Being raised by 2 Knowledge sims means toddler training right away for little Hannah! There's no rest for the weary!
And there's the two sisters together. They have very similar personalities and so get along pretty well.
These Knowledge sims are so easy to keep happy!
Double baby bumps! This household is about to get a lot more hectic.
Brooke had another birthday, and isn't she a cutie-pie? She's starting to look more and more like her mommy.
Brooke tends to have a serious look on her face most of the time, but occasionally I can catch her being silly!
Someone must have given these two frisky juice this round, because they were autonomously woohoo'ing the whole time. Good thing they're both already pregnant!
There are high expectation for kids of Knowledge sims, so little Brooke gets right to work on her skilling.
While other little kids are having fun playing cops and robbers, Brooke is busy burning muffins. You never know, one day she might be a Celebrity Chef.
Daniel finally went into labor and alien baby Leo was born!
They finally have a boy! Leo Ward has the alien green skin and black eyes with black hair (obviously).
Daniel went back to work almost immediately and made me mad almost as immediately with this failed chance card. He lost a body skill point (which is no biggie since he learns skills so fast), but he also lost 2 days worth of pay which dropped the family's bank account to $154!
And what a good time for that failed chance card! Leslie gave birth to the couple's 3rd daughter, Lindsay Ward. Lindsay has brown hair and dark blue eyes like her two big sisters.
Luckily, Daniel redeemed himself the next day and brought home a promotion with a nice bonus.
Little Brooke just might grow up to be yet another Knowledge sim.
Her parents definitely make sure she's learning as much as she can.
With a houseful of people and only one bathroom, this is a common occurrence.
Leslie is lucky with the chance cards this round, although this one just gave her access to the secret hobby lot.
But she was able to squeeze in another promotion before the end of the round.
Brooke was able to squeeze in some time playing with her friends rather than studying. There aren't any other kids in town that her age right now, so townie friends will just have to do for now.
Daniel is already feeling the strain of having 3 daughters! At least little Leo will be on his side when he grows up!
