Ohoh. I found a plot hole in the Novel. Or rather, a thread of plot that appears in chapters 3-5, where a Big Deal is made of it, and then is subsequently forgotten. Ohohoh. This is the problem with spur-of-the-moment ideas. They solve one problem but create two more.
In other Novel-related problems, my synopsis is much too long to submit to the Writer's Weekend contest. I shall have to cut it almost in half. It can't be more than two pages, and I have three and a half! How in the world can I summarize an entire novel--100k words!--and all its lovely bits in a mere two pages, while maintaining a cohesive, intersting story and explaining why the reader will care when the important things happen?
Ohohoh. Why couldn't they have asked for three pages?
