I adored seeing it again and seeing it in the theater and seeing the full extended film.
1-Merry and Eowyn moments
2-Merry offering Theoden his sword
3-Christopher Leee back in the film where he belongs if not in a canon version, at least, back on the screen. He is brilliant!
4-I'd forgotten how amazing Gollum is, CGI or not he is still just amazing!
5-The music! Billy sings!
6-The credits with art!
7-Every single frame with Pippin in it!
8-That look on Frodo's face when he decides to keep the Ring! *shiver*
9-Arwen and Aragorn kiss.
10-YOU BOW TO NO ONE! One of the best scenes ever!

The part that always annoys me is the flaming leap of Lord Denethor! I just cannot tell you how that one scene pulls me out of the film! Frodo sending Sam home is bad too but Denethor doing a human torch bit is just so over-the-top.

Glad you saw it too! Squeeee!

I agree with all of your loves in the movie. My least favorite scene is where legolas is outside and aragorn comes out and legolas says another lame line about 'blood will be shed'...all of his lines actually make me laugh they're so trite and lame.

"My friends, you bow to no one!"

PJ wrote a lot of lines I don't like, but that one is perfection.

Oh yeah. ;P I've mellowed out about it over the years and did manage to sit through one of the commentaries awhile back, checking out the picture quality on my Blu-ray player, but that's as far as I'm willing to go at the moment.

It is soooo nice to have people who feel as I do. I am a Frodocentric person...don't ever want to be cured, just given more Frodo stuff. I plan to watch the extended FOTR tonight because we have no AMC theaters in Utah...hubbies out of town and it's just me and the dog...perfect!

9) More movie change than error; when Sam comes home you see both Elanor and Frodo-lad (NOT Faramir, Billy Boyd, seriously).

In fact 9 is a large part of what led to my movie-fix fic a couple of years back.

And of course, we never get Rosie's direct voice in the book, so why couldn't she have known?

That is a movie change, isn't it? Elanor and Frodo-lad are already older than they should be too!
I want to read your movie fix fic-- please link me. :)

I want to hear Rosie's take on all of this in the Pre-Havens before Frodo even was thinking of leaving...surely she would see some signs of him retreating more so from the Shire. As the book said, he kept quiet and focused a lot on finishing the Red Book. Things in Rosie's point of view always fascinates me.
