aka Tolkien Reading Day. ;)

Among the events that happened today in Middle-earth includes the defeat of Sauron (3019) and Elanor's b-day in 3021!

I remember several years ago, i went to Frodo's Restaurant in honor of Tolkien Reading Day...that was a good time. :D

theonering.net is celebrating by sharing their favorite passages here:

I ask YOU, what YOUR favorite passages are? I have soooo many but of course those passages/chapters include Flight to the Ford ("By Elbereth and Luthien the Fair, you shall have neither the Ring nor me!" ), Mount Doom and all the Mordor sequences with Frodo and Sam, The Choices of Samwise, Faramir telling Gandalf and Pippin what has befallen in Siege of Gondor, Grey Havens, when Frodo tells Samwise that the Shire has been saved but not for him (oh tears!), when Merry, Pippin and Sam reveal the conspiracy to Frodo, Frodo's decision at the Breaking of the Fellowship, Pippin's occurrence with the Palantir, Eowyn's moment with the Witch-king, and bits of the Council of Elrond that reveal so much of the History of ME to us. :)

Cheers to LotR and to this day in Middle-earth! =)
