The Buzz that is The Hobbit...*squee*

My thoughts...
I've been thinking. Oh yes, i have of The Hobbit and Sequel coming out...(Kept me grinning these days... :D)
the buzz is that PJ won't direct but will be a producer. I think it's important that he be part of the Hobbit but most importantly is how the script would be written. Perhaps if we did have another director, he'll give another vision.... Since The Hobbit *is* a lighter book than LotR, maybe we should have a director that would poke some fun with it and not make it ultra serious?
Or (my for PJ as director stance says) PJ knows the Hobbit, read it as a kid, did great with LotR, and therefore in all ways SHOULD direct the Hobbit no matter what. BUT, he's busy with The Lovely Bones and TinTin for next two years. I think popular demand is that we all want PJ back at the helm of HIS HOBBIT.
But look at the HP movies... I really liked HP3 the most and it was done differently than the first two.
But you can argue that HP is clearly different from The Hobbit and LotR... (which is a solid argument).
You really *can't* mangle The Hobbit. What i suggest, is CLEARLY bring back Philippa Boyens since she knows the books so darn well and it's so obvious that she'll do great being back writing the script for the Hobbit.

The main page has Sam Raimi on Variety magazine as the latest buzz that he will take the reins of the Hobbit. :-0 Spiderman director, The Hobbit? First, the most important q-- has he READ the Hobbit? (the other director mentioned on TORN...didn't even read the books! Now that's EGREGIOUS!)

So thoughts anyone? PJ or no PJ as director? *Is* it enough that he's producing?
