I feel very fortunate indeed to meet RL folks that share the love that i have as well. :) It was indeed a very enjoyable time. :)
I know! i was *very* impressed by the girl as well. :) I think she has an affinity for Eowyn and for elves... she had a Lothlorien cloak on, i think and is also member of Heren Istarion. :)
Yes, LotR and Tolkien and hobbitses always make me dissolve into Love. :)
There is nothing like that here. There are only a few of us Tolkien people around and nothing organized at all. All of my contact with it is on line or when I get to make a trip to an event of some sort. It sounds wonderful and I am glad you had a good time. Would have loved to have seen that Gandalf the Grey!
The Gandalf i met was quite a character. :) He read the beginning of FotR starting with "The Long-Expected Party" and did great voices for different characters while reading the beginning. :)
I know you're going to ELF and sure hope you have some great fun swooning fro hobbits and discussing all things Tolkien! =)
And I have a Frodo costume that I wore a few years ago...And Nivina, I remember, just adored it! I shall have to post that picture again some time so that everyone can see it! :-)
That's... not really the name of the restaurant is it?!
Oh, this was so cool! I'm like a couple of other folks here mentioned - online is really my only outlet for fandom things. It's not something I can share with people in RL, besides perhaps talking about certain movies or shows. I need to see if there's some type of group like this in Chicago. There was one, but I discovered them way late and they didn't seem to be very active. I'll have to look around some more.
Anyway, this sounds like such a lovely evening. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you *do* find a group like that in Chicago!
Thats really cool~ which web site gave help in making costumes like these? or do you know where to buy? i think my granny could give me some hints as well if i were to make it...
