UBCon '09

We had our demo at UBCon yesterday, and I think it was a success.  They put us in a much more visible location this year, and consequently we got a lot more spectators and people trying it out. It was fun to fight in front of a big audience. There was a temporary problem with the field being double booked, but even the guys participating in the ( Read more... )

The latex weapon guys were there, and the guy that drew Miah's zombie icon, and a chick that makes adorable little monster dice and other bags. Jester's Cap had a booth, and there were a few others too. I think the vendors had improved a bit from last year.

Ooh ooh, I wanted to buy a bag from that girl, those were awesome! I think I lost her business card (she was at Simcon the year I was there with 'Miah as a 'Vendor' ;) remember munchkin?)

Do you have her info? I think I just found it though - bagsthatbite.com? I'll have to order one, maybe a 'custom' :)

Or I just got a sewing machine at a garage sale, I could always try to *shudder* make one. Ehhh.... I'll order one first :)

Yup, that's her site, and she's on Etsy also: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5294064 I thought her stuff was really cool, especially the ones with little wings.

Hehe, that wouldn't be so bad, would it?

I think I want the Flying Backpack, but I'm not sure exactly what to get, I'd have to spend a while picking out the right colors (probably dark purple/black with some red highlights, maybe the eyes a deep red, or even get some LEDs sewn into it :) ), type of fur (no poodle curls please). I was thinking about a Fizzgig (which her 'Swamp Monster' is based on, but with horns), but I'd rather get something unique.

Do you know if she used to do the mouths different? For some reason I don't remember the zipper mouths, I'm not sure which I prefer (zipper, loose opening, or draw-string). Maybe zippers are easier to sew in and hold things in better, but I'm not sure, I like the idea of a small side dice bag of devouring with a long strap with a generally fluffy, loose opening to take dancing or something! And that's why I'll need to sew one myself after I buy one (like the backpack, I'd rather not try to make that myself).

Yeah, those are neat, and unique is definitely awesome.

From what she was saying to one of my friends, she tends to use different mouth structures for the different types of bags, but if you want a different style for a particular bag, it's not a problem. That'd be adorable! :)
