Time flies here. Day two has already passed with more lovely landscape, including view from the tallest hill on the island, "Dyret" (the animal - though that's not the origin of the name), a brief visit at the Energy Academy, a stop at a holy wellspring on the beach (!) surrounded by 3000-year-old oak, and other interesting tidbits.
quaryn_dk stayed home, though, to let her muscles recuperate, and instead did a pair of paintings that she had an idea for in a dream a year back.
In the evening, we went down to the local windmill (of the old kind), and had a lovely time hanging out and looking at the machinery.
quaryn_dk found out that one of the arts teachers here is retiring in a year and a half, so there may be a job opening! Our dream of moving to Samsø moves closer.
Pictures later, as I'm too tired to deal with crappy editing programs tonight. I miss LightRoom, and totally look forward to LR3 and its distortion correction, not least.
Pictures now on:
The only picture I got that gives a really good impression of the landscape. For such a beautiful place, it sure is difficult to capture. I guess I'm better at "intimate landscapes".
Little doubt that it was full Spring here.
The oak ring around this spring is 3000 years old!
The windmill we could see from the højskole. Mickey on the right.
Despite their apparent geometric distortions, these gears actually work.
