Friendly little post
Just saying that things are pretty good here in Winfield. The weather has been crazy mild, hardly even shorts-weather, but seems to be returning towards the more common 30+ degrees. I'm trying my best to get a reasonable interpolation of measurements at irregularly placed points working, but my Voronoi diagrams are being annoying, and all the other interpolations I try have various artifacts. May have to do it on a sphere. Doesn't help that the router we got is seriously flaky, it will go back to Circus City tomorrow. Had some stomach bother yesterday, but getting some real youghurt helped a lot. We've borrowed a bike from Cheryl and Terry, a most wonderful couple with book interests very similar to ours. They also had an interesting bike, where the pedals are moved about 10 cm forwards, making it a more natural position to sit in. Combined with a super-wide squishy saddle, it was almost like sitting in a comfy chair. Not quite as leaned-back as recumbent bikes, but also not invisible on the road. Must have.
Our lost luggage hasn't arrived yet, so we're starting to shop for Things We Lost in the Flight. I was getting a new tripod anyway, and it seems I'll be going with the market leader, partly for having flip-lock sections, partly for having the fold-downable center column. Haven't been taking any photos since my charger is also lost.
