Someone gets themselves killed and everyone acts like it's some sort of unprecedented disaster. I'm not saying it isn't unhappy for that person or his friends, and I have sympathy in that regard. But it's hard for me to imagine that anyone could be surprised.
When were we ever given any guarantee of security? We have no guardians here, no rules. What do you expect in this sort of a place? If you make yourself a target, and don't take the proper precautions, you can't be surprised at the inevitable result. Believe me, I've learned this the hard way. A lot of us have to learn by trial and error in such an alien environment.
I have no real solution. All I can do is try and learn enough to protect myself and my friends. That's all any of us can do.
