Apparently I haven't updated this thing since June. Oops. I'll try to be better about it in the future. So here's a selective list of things I am doing now, or have been doing over the past several months.
-Looking for a job, and that's all I'm going to say on the subject at this point in time. Unless you want to give me the name and phone number of someone who wants to hire me, this falls under the category of "far too depressing to talk about."
-Reading. Public libraries are quite possibly the best invention ever, and I'm having a lot of fun reading whatever I feel like reading. Obviously I miss school, though, because my choices in reading material are along the lines of Scientific American and Shakespeare. Yes, I know those are two very different lines. I'm open-minded like that.
-Drawing. Playing with acrylics and watercolors. It's great to have some time to do this, and Celtic knotwork as a meditation technique works surprisingly well.
-Writing. I've been digging up old projects that I'll probably never allow to see the light of day, but are fun to poke at, and tentatively coming up with new story ideas. Also, editing other people's stories, which I'm enjoying very much.
-Having adventures with my housemates, who are all amazing and wonderful. I love living here with these people, and I love that we're all getting better and better at figuring out the minutiae of house-sharing while still being able to have fun together. See below for examples.
We've gone out and done lots of fun things as a group, including going to a historical village, playing dress-up, and performing as a singing group called the Snake Oil Company.

You know how you always see things that look really, really cool, but come with warnings that say "Kids, don't do this at home"? Building a firepit in your backyard is probably one of those things. Sometimes being an adult rocks.

Remember in Calvin and Hobbes, when Calvin would take his wagon and go roaming through the woods behind his house when he needed to do some philosophizing? I don't have a wagon or a Hobbes, but we do have woods behind the house. Complete with rope swing.

The household has also been keeping up with election news, and providing our own commentary. In light of last night's debate, it seems appropriate to share a cartoon I found last month:

And finally, one last thing: I may be planning to build a TARDIS in the back shed. Watch this space for further developments.
