Some things, in no particular order

It's summer! Which, apparently, means actual heat and sun. My mind is having trouble grasping this concept, because I have a deep subconscious belief that summer means fog and extra sweaters. Maybe someday I'll get used to the idea that summer is hot, and get used to the heat itself, but today is not that day. My mind is having no trouble at all grasping the idea that I really don't want to go out and do anything right now, at least not until it's a more reasonable temperature.

I caught a flea in my room last night, and another one this afternoon. Fleas! In my room! What's that all about? I hope there aren't any more, because I really don't need any more bug bites. Needless to say, I killed them. Fleas are one of the few species I have absolutely no qualms about killing, possibly because the little suckers (pun intended) are so hard to destroy that by the time you do, it's just satisfying.

I finished reading the Oregon Driver's Manual today. Now I just need to go to the DMV and take my permit test, which I can't do until I can prove I live in Oregon, for which the only acceptable documentation I have is my voter registration card. Which hasn't arrived in the mail yet, so I'm stuck for the moment. I can't decide if this situation more closely resembles a Douglas Adams novel or a Dilbert cartoon.

I have half-finished job applications that need to get done, and which I'm obviously not working on at this moment. Nor do I have much motivation, because the entire application process is just annoying. See, you can procrastinate even after you graduate! I should really stop posting on Livejournal and get back to work.

I'll be arriving in Albany on Thursday, just so you all know.

my life, the joys of bureaucracy
