Khao San Road has been described as "a short road that has the longest dreams in the world" It used to be major Bangkok rice market. Now it's a hotspot for tourists and backpackers. It's not like Bangkok is short on places to buy shit, but if you're looking for a one stop shop to buy all your clothes, food, bootleg DVDs and CDs, crafts, paintings, fake IDs, books, and other useful odds and ends than Khao San Road is the place. It's also a good place to hit up if you're in the market for a drink and some young Thai woman "company".
