外国人抽杀 (Gaijin Smash)

I suppose one of the benefits of currently being unemployed is having all sorts of free time on my hands...free time that I can use to do shit like play badminton. Badminton is maaaaaaaaaad popular in Japan. Why that is, I couldn't begin to tell you. In a country where people can join any number of violent, full contact sports (karate, judo, sumo, naginata), a ton of people seem to instead head for their local badminton court. I guess there must be something appealing about having a shuttlecock fly in your face at a hundred miles an hour.

Whenever people would talk about badminton, my mind would conjure up images of old white guys with European accents dressed in polo tees and short shorts standing around on a well manicured grass court leisurely hitting a shuttle cock back and forth while talking about high society shit. But I can't front...badminton is baaaadass! Must give thanks to Tetsuhisa for taking time out to show me the light. He hit me up on my cell and invited me out to his badminton practice at Ozato Jr. High School. He's actually the coach, so he had me play against a bunch of his students in games that had me runnin around the court hunting down the shuttle cock. I didn't do so bad in the first game, losing 21-16. But in the 8 subsequent games after that you bet your sweet ass I was beyond tired. Leave it to badminton to remind me that I'm getting up there in years.

However, I'm secretly hoping Tetsuhisa invites me to play badminton again. The kids must know revenge and the stinging pain of defeat. Also the stinging pain of shuttle cocks to the face.
