Clarksdale
Friday night we and the Spongebobs (our favorite couple in the area to hang out with) went to Clarksdale, MS. Clarksdale is a small town, and it probably doesn't have much going for it, but Morgan Freeman was born there and has a few businesses, including Madidi Restaurant and Ground Zero Blues Club. We'd been planning on making the trip for a while. The original plan was to fly out (which would have cut the travel time down), but Lulu Belle (the plane) has faulty brakes at the moment, and turns out we had a storm come through on Friday, so we wouldn't have been able to fly anyway.
Never ones to let minor issues derail our plans, we drove instead, which gave us plenty of time for good conversation. We (or I should say I) had a great meal at Madidi, then headed over to the Blues Club and were entertained by live music and dancing. Unfortunately, Matt got sick and had to make an early exit. The drive home the next day was subdued because everyone but me was experiencing stomach problems.
I rather enjoyed the adventure, but you can imagine the bug soured the trip a bit for the rest.
