camera phone, camera brain

"It was a day, like all days, and we were there." The Amazing Race

I've never felt I needed a camera phone. I mean, I have a phone, a good 4 megapix snapper, and a very good 6 megapix SLR. But today I realised what camera phones are for: they're for being the first thing to hand when you have too much stuff to carry a camera AND a phone, and life suddenly throws something truly weird into your path.

Such as, let's say--oh, I don't know--a pair of real pigeon wings hanging from a railing like those headbands on display at H&M. Hanging by their connecting bone frame which has apparently been picked until it is only held together by a few frayed threads of sinew and gristle.

I stood and stared, and kicked myself for a good five minutes. Then I remembered there was another alternative.

Ok, it's not the same shock value, or anything like as accurate, as a photo. Plus you can see my mistake where the damn thing twisted round while I was trying to draw it (I sure as hell wasn't going to TOUCH it, brrr). But what else could I do? Argh, see if I EVER leave the house without a camera again.
