Snow Ahead!?

Rumor has it this is going to be a winter to put 2006/07 and 2008/09 (and according to one guy at work, the last 50 years) to shame. We've been getting possible snow shower predictions for Saturday, then things turn cold. Mid 20's cold when it's sunny. Whee! Apparently it is some sort of La Nina thing. I recommend never counting on snow in Seattle until you see the flakes - and even then not until they start to stick to the sidewalks. They predict it 10-30 times a year, and it happens two-four times every two years, with a major pile-up every seven years. If we get a good dump this year it will be sooner than that seven, though since they're all saying it I do put some stock in it ( ... )

The buses don't entirely shut down, plus now they have all the official "snow routes." And Nintendo never shuts down for anything less than a power outage, so I had to find out just how bad the buses are in snow. I remember there was one hill that a particular bus would always get stuck on in the snow. My bus driver had the clever idea of putting chains on his tires, so we would always pass that other bus. On the left. On a narrow residential street going up a slippery hill. (Thankfully a car never came the other way.) And it happened several times! You would think the other bus driver would figure it out, but apparently he didn't ( ... )
