Uncomfortable weather welcomes me to unemployment

I am not used to being in my apartment all day. I've usually been doing something everyday since I moved. It is kind of weird to be here all alone.

The air felt icky for much of the day. It still does. I assumed it was the neighbors and that this is just how it is during the day. When I lived in this place before, I rarely had to run the heater in the winter because the heat from the lower floor kept my place more than warm enough. (I hate to think of what it is like on the top floor. I've noticed window air conditioners up there and the lower floors don't have them.)

For a lot of the day I was busy with organizing from my move. I felt like I was melting. It turns out it wasn't just in my mind. A post in seattle led me to the news: today was the most humid day of the year so far! 100% humidity in some places! Blah! It didn't even feel all that hot, but when the humidity is at 100%, it doesn't have to be.

In other news, I applied for a job today. Damian called me and let me know that there may be an opening at his place, so I sent a resume to the appropriate temp company. It is some kind of mechanical assembly job. I don't know if it requires soldering, though. The company makes hospital equipment for neonatal ICUs. Hardcore stuff! Damian has been telling me some impressive things about the safety measures put in place to ensure the machines are working properly. Lives of babies are in your hands! How much more serious can you get?

Right now I just want the weather to get better. It is still too icky at almost 11 pm.
