I swam Monday after work, first time in months. My neighbor vented about his oldest son who has no ambition and who moved out of an apartment without notice or paying the final months of rent. He says the son’s girlfriend is even worse. Ashley came by to pay part of her hotel bill and we chatted awhile. She wants to be my friend, too, not just Grace’s. Hooray! Tuesday, the M crowd went to Red Lobster. They asked about the NS closing & my retirement. I went to 2 retirement parties on Friday for people in other departments. Thursday, I went to B&N and chatted with Clare & Al for a while. Nobody else showed up.
Friday after work, several of us from the IT department went to Billy’s Ritz in the city market area for a meet-&-greet. I had a glass of Riesling which was delicious & expensive, and I ate dinner with a co-worker I hardly knew until then - Joe & his wife Cindy. Their daughter goes to PHHS and went on the band trip to Hawaii.
Saturday I woke up bright and early and refreshed(!) and went yard saling without Lois since she was busy. It was COLD and windy! I got 2 lawn chairs, a food basket with a screen cover, another bagel toaster for the con suite, 2 garden tools, etc. I went to the annual North Cross sale, too. My phone battery was totally dead, so I got a message when I got home that Lois had bought a bookcase at the North Cross sale and needed me to take it home, so I went back out there & got it and carried it into her house. I got a nap in the afternoon. My neighbor Karen & I went to Back Street Café in the evening to hear the band that we both like. It’s a little narrow building on Salem Avenue. The bands were LOUD but I had my earplugs along. I met the drummer for Media Downfall, or as Clinton & I say, the real drummer. I just play my djembe. He was very good and the band sounded great. K & I were there until after 1:00 and I didn’t sleep well.
Sunday I was tired all morning but hung out laundry, made soup & bread, cooked collards, etc. The weather was much nicer. Lois came over in the afternoon to binge-watch Dexter.
