hnnnghh boredom
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? TALL AND SKINNY TO THE MAX. She's already 5'7", and all evidence says that's she's only going to get taller. She was designed to be thin, but muscled, and aerodynamic, whatever that means. Also, the scientists weren't exactly kind to them when they were growing up in cages; she didn't get a lot to eat. They also faced the same problem when they were on the run, going for days without eating, having to rummage in dumpsters for their next meal, etc. Another reason why she's so skinny. She's very light, because of the hollow bones, and all.
2. How old is she? 12-ish.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She has a... perky posture? IDK, she's just very jaunty and cheerful in general, and she does carry herself well.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? She's in pretty good shape. She's muscled because she needs to be, and gets a workout every time they're on the run, or when they're fighting mutants and robots or whatever. No illnesses/disabilities, although she's apparently like, constantly mutating or something.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Graceful and fluid, thanks to those inhuman reflexes and whatnot. She has a few clumsy moments, and if you watch her very closely, some of her movements are distinctly bird-like.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? CUTE AS A BUTTON. ♥ Max says that looking at her, you can tell she's going to grow up to be a knockout, and atm she is generally adorable. Curls, dimples, Bambi eyes, etc. Also sixteen year old boys hit on her. /VOM. Although it wasn't his fault that she looks older than she really is but /VOM anyway. And yes, she knows that she is a cutie, thank you, and she loves her looks, but she's not vain about it. :)
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? She's half-black, half-something else (I think the something else was implied to be Latina) and is described as having 'mocha' skin. :| Lawd, white writers using food to describe POC.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Dark brown with blonde highlights, wildly curly and always in a mess, a little longer than shoulder length, soft and springy.
9. What color are her eyes? 'Chocolate brown'. Get out, James Patterson.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Over twelve feet of tawny brown wings.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Errr, shoulders and arms.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Oh boy. Nudge loves clothes, and fashion, and her wardrobe is as wildly varied as she can manage it! She likes jeans, shorts, some khaki but not too much, and leggings. She loves cute skirts and dresses but doesn't wear them often because lol fighting random battles everywhere. :< Tops from the Gap, Forever 21 Kids, TF Maxx, whatever, once it's cute and totally in style. The one thing she loves about Paradisa is being able to have as much clothes as she ever wants!!! She favours bright colours and funky prints, stuff with flowers, etc. As for footwear, she goes for strappy sandals, or nice sneakers (Sketchers). SHE JUST LOVES CLOTHES OKAY. She also makes and adjusts stuff on her own, yeahhh. And she probably has tonnes of accessories too ksdffdjfhkd.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? OF COURSE. ON BOTH COUNTS. She is adorable and she knows it. :)
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? n/a... She doesn't have a job and she pretty much dresses like a mini-fashionista all of the time. Except for that time they had to wear school uniforms... euw.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Cute underwear?!?
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Not exactly high-pitched, but it's the voice of the pre-teen girl, for sure. Very bright and spritey.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? She speaks very easily, and very quickly. Lol. I imagine she eats up her words fairly often, and it can get hard to understand her when she starts rambling.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Nooooot really? She's American, aaaaand has spent a lo of time in California and Colorado, so her accent is probably influenced by those places. She can get semi-Valley Girl on you at times.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? Fluent in English, learning Spanish and French. She wants to learn all of the languages, and is working on that in Paradisa.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Not really; she doesn't know enough languages for that.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? LOL she barely ever thinks about her words. Nope, she just LETS IT ALL OUT. So.... skjhfkjd yeah I guess she's a good impromptu speaker.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? She's pretty much rambling all the time, but when she gets serious, she slows down a bit. If she's frantic, she gets even faster.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? She's very smart, as she was engineered to be that way, and she learns extremely quickly! She doesn't have much in the way of book smarts, though, and her street-smarts are only just developing, having spent the first seven years of her life in a cage, and the next four of them in the woods in Colorado. But she picks up on things fast, and loves to learn.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? A pretty healthy mix of both? She has to know how to think on her feet, what with getting ambushed all the time and having to abandon what she's doing in a split second when she's given an order. But she's also known for being the one in the flock who wants to think things over, and be a little cautious in whatever they're doing.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Lord. Logical and practical are the things that she knows she should be, and that she tries to be, but... she fails at that a bit. She's a bit too flighty and imaginative, and has a few lofty idealistic notions about the world and whatnot. And in canon, she still has a lot of hope that she'll one day find her parents, so... yeah.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Lol, none. She's had about.. idk, less than two months of formal schooling, but other than that? Pretty much zilch. Lived in a cage, etc. Almost everything she knows, she's learnt from books, TV, the internet and experience. She WANTS to go to school, though. She wants to learn things so badly. :<
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Cars, fashion, and computers! Pretty diverse, but you must remember: this is the girl who Wants to Know Everything.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extreme extrovert.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? She's pretty much always cheerful and bubbly and friendly. She looks on the bright-side, is optimistic, chill, and is the eternal good sport. She's very driven when it comes to the things she wants, though.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? It depends. Because of her background, and the fact that people are always trying to kill her, she's pretty wary and suspicious around most new people, especially adults. It's very hard for her to trust. However, she has a very friendly nature in general, though the act of making friends is foreign to her. She's very curious to try it out in Paradisa, once she's sure it's safe. She really wants to make friends!
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? React. Though she can be very impulsive and will act first if the situation calls for it.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Fight. She will fall back on flight if she thinks she can't handle it, though.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She's got a pretty healthy sense of humour, but it's undeniably that of a little girl. Silly things and jokes, pranks once they're not mean and over the top, etc.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Not really? It's suggested that her inability to control her mouth/keep herself from saying what she thinks is a product of some experiment gone wrong, an experiment which was supposed to enhance her mental faculties but backfired. But it can't really be described as a disability.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? Well, the aforementioned failed experiment is pretty much the reason for her blabber-mouthed nature. Other than that, Jeb rescuing them from the School was a pretty huge event; she finally experienced what it's like to be free and alive. That probably influenced her optimistic nature a lot.
14. What does she fear? Tight enclosed spaces. Rats. Going back to the School. Dying. Being alone.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? Well... she wants to grow up, first of all sfuoidsflkdsjf she's... really hoping that she doesn't keel over and die like the rest of experiments from the School. And once she grows up... well, like I said, this is the girl who Wants to Know Everything, and she wants to Be Everything too! The president, a marine biologist, a teacher, a fashion designer, a cheerleader, a mechanic, a linguist, a computer programmer.... lksfdjf basically she wants to learn stuff and be happy with her family.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? In Paradisa, she thinks that she is a parentless mutant created in a petri-dish, and she REALLY doesn't want anyone to know about that. The wings and the powers to a lesser extent, but especially that first one. She wants parents... so badly fffff so it's a sore spot. And she's not looking for pity. If lots of people know it'll just make her feel weird.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. Non-existent! She thinks that her parents are the scientists who made her, anyway, and needless to say, she hates them.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No biological ones.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Noooope.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? The Flock! They often live under the guise of being siblings, but to her, they might as well really be her family. They've been through everything together, and she loves them and looks out for them and cares for them so much. Family means everything to her, and she's so glad that she has them. FFFFFFFFFFFF Seriously, her love for them trumps everything else in her stupid life.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Oh gosh.. I can't even pick one? Max is her favourite out of everyone, just by a little bit, but I wouldn't describe it as a best-friend relationship, but more of a motherly, sisterly, leader-sama kind of thing. FFFF THEY ARE ALL HER BEST FRIEND. She identifies with Max, Fang, Iggy, Gazzy and Angel, but all in different ways. And they met in the School, being weird mutant birdkids together.
6. Does she have other close friends? Other than the Flock? Not really. She's getting friendly with some people in Paradisa.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Once she's made up her mind to be friendly and not suspicious? Yes! Being sociable is very easy for her.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Family. Hands down.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? No no no no.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? No no no.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? Hmmm idk. :|a I think she might've once had a baby-crush on Iggy, before coming to see him as a brother. Not crushing on anyone atm, other than Miscellaneous Teen Celebrity #3783.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? UHHHHHHHHHH idk. She doesn't really know either; she's just a kid, and most of her feelings are still pretty immature and whatnot. The most important thing, though, would be finding someone who does not care that she is a freak. :x
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? No no no. She thinks that maaaaybe she wants kids. In the very distant future.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? People from the School and Itex.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the
Kinsey scale? As a character in a James Patterson book? Fffft. James Patterson would say she's a 0, probably but screw him. I think if she cared very much about it at this stage she would call herself straight, but I think she has the potential to be a 1 or 2.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? No no no.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? No no no.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (
zodiac of
choice) sign? How well does she fit type? IDK. And she doesn't either. The woes of having no birthday, etc. She was probably born sometime in 1994, though, which would make her a Dog, Wood Dog specifically. "Wood Dogs are well-rounded individuals. They are adaptable, flexible and laid back. However, they are not as independent as other Dogs and like being part of the group. This is due in part to the support they crave, but it also makes them feel secure and self-confident. In return, they are faithful friends, shy at first, then warm and affectionate." This is very accurate, especially the bit about being part of a group!
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? None of those, really. As something that was created and not born, really, she doesn't know what to think about religion and God. So she just.... doesn't, most of the time. I mean, she doesn't disagree with the concept, and yeah, maybe there is a God or whatever but she was never indoctrinated into any belief so she's mostly just like 'whatever'. Heathen birdkid agnosticism yeahhhh.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? When it comes down to moral and ethics and why she does what she does, it all comes down to Max. Max is her leader, her friend, her SISTER, and 90% of the time Nudge is convinced that Max knows best. No, seriously, she follows this girl's orders like clockwork. And since Max is all about protecting the weak and those who can't help themselves, and kicking evil butt when it needs to be kicked, then Nudge is all about those things too! At least, she tries to be. But yeah, generally she goes with her gut and WWMD when dealing with matters of right and wrong. You shouldn't hurt people or take advantage of them... basic stuff like that. She has... NOTHING against lying though lsfuoidufds seriously she lies so much lmao. Only for important stuff/stuff she needs to hide, but yeah, she does it easily and flawlessy and doesn't get fussed about the morality of it or whatever. She's also okay with stealing, if you really really need to do it to survive, not for profit or gain. Killing or seriously maiming someone is something that she can't do, though. (At least... not to humans. She's helped kill Erasers before.)
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Curious! Because she always wants to learn stuff. Buuuut not TOO curious because religion doesn't interest her that much ffff. But she is mostly very tolerant.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? No matter how nice she is to you, and vice versa, if you are an adult, you are going to have to work so... so hard to get 100% of her trust. If that much is even possible. You can thank Anne Walker for some of that, and the scientists for the rest. She of course has good reason for the mistrust.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? At home, PRETTY POOR. Always on the run, starving for days, eating out of dumpsters, etc. At her current canon point, they're doing a little better for themselves, being back home, and all. In Para... well, she lives in a magic castle!! She's comfortable.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? I would put the birdkids at what... lower middle class? Depends on the point in the story, but when they were home in Colorado, they seemed relatively comfortable. It changes when they have to sleep in parks and subways the stuff lskfjkdsfj
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? At home she shares a space with Max and Angel. In Paradisa, she's just about starting to redesign and decorate her room and make it into her DREAM HOME. When she's done she's going to LOVE IT THERE.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Magazines, books, cute little trinkets and toys and jewellery. Not.. that she normally has any money to speak of, but yeah.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? n/a? She helps save the world on occasion, and she's pretty good at that.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? DOING EVERYTHING EVER. So seriously she has so many hobbies idek here to start. Reading, languages, cars, computers, fashion, sewing, baking, learning, games, animals and EVERYTHING EVER.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? Eats like a horse. No, really. She has a huge appetite and ridiculously high metabolism. At home, she ate whenever she could, but here in Paradisa she can actually have regular meals and and have fourths and fifths and it is heaven. *___* She goes to the kitchen, or just wishes stuff up in her room. And always carries some snacks on her person, because seriously, she is always hungry. She's a kid, so no alcohol. She used to be a vegetarian but... isn't anymore? Ffffff.
