Bad Sandy!

I really hope everyone on the East coast pulls out okay. Sandy's winds and flooding are sure to wreck havock on people's homes, property, and way of life. I've read that many people are without power, and I'm sure many are stuck at home in the dark, just waiting it out ( Read more... )

It's probably just an excuse for tax money in the end. California is the state that used tax payer's money for a guy in prison to have a sex change...so ridiculous is rudiculous I suppose.

A guy in prison?

I'd be fine with it if the dude was a law-abiding citizen and you know, made a POSITIVE contribution to society but unless the dude is going to kill himself over the fact that he's a dude, don't give him a free sex change. There are law-abiding transexuals who would have probably appreciated the money more.

He wanted to sue the state of California for supressing his human rights.

Total bullshit. It isn't a 'right', but a 'choice' for a sex change.

Good to know where my tax dollars are going though. Yep. I wasn't pissed at all when I read that...

Hmmmmm... *strokes chin* I'm not sure what to think. I fully support a transexuals right to get a sex change and his or her right to be given as much information about the change as possible, but I'm not sure whether the government should pay for it. Wanting a sex change is as much a psychological issue as well as a cosmetic issue, but then again the government doesn't pay for people to get glasses and that's something people really do need to get on in life.

But it's bogus that a prisoner is suing california for that. Dude, there are prisons in the world where people are badly treated within jail. Waiting to get a sex change till you get out of prison is not a huge deal, especially if you did something really bad to deserve to be put in jail in the first place.

Maybe, but I don't think a prisoner deserves such a thing. He murdered his wife, so I definitely think he should rot in prison a male and be unhappy.

I agree that prisoners don't deserve such a privilege either, especially since there are people out there who deserved the operation more. I can't believe the state of California let him have that operation after he murdered his wife. I agree that prisoners should have some basic human rights, but if he's unhappy about his gender then it's his own fault for murdering his wife.
