Listening to The Inheritance of Loss. Absolutely intolerable book, I'm not even paying attention to 70% of the story. I can't believe this is on my reading list. Thank God I don't have to write on it.
Gave Waiting for Godot to the boy, who was quite happy. I saw him read the first page in class. He thought I was merely lending it to him but then I had to enunciate that it was actually a gift. Told him the next day that I got the book just for him as I'd read it 4 years ago. He gave me an awkward thank you and asked if I was going that night to the students' union to see a play - The Odyssey...by Homer Simpson (yes, he actually said that). Needless to say, I didn't go. Can't afford it and I later heard there was a huge line in front of the building.
Went to the Vegetarian Health Shop on Oxford Road today and bought a peppermint soap and shampoo. Then bought a dozen eggs from Spar. I still need chili, garlic and tomatoes, but I guess I'll have to buy those next week.
Decided to write one of my papers on Austerlitz, The Forgotten Garden and Possession. Still not sure if I'm cut out for academia but I'm gonna give it my best shot. 100% sure I loathe teaching, though.
