I honestly intended to post more here in the past year, but you know how it is. Mom stuff, career stuff, other writing stuff, etc. I check my flist fairly frequently, but just didn't seem to be able to get it together to post.
On the mom stuff front, The Sprog is now a high-schooler. I can't quite wrap my brain around that one. He's doing pretty well, too; getting mostly As and a few Bs. He has made a whole bunch of new friends, which is wonderful. He's taking German this year and we're planning a trip to Germany in 2017.
Speaking of both mom stuff and international travel, we went to Italy this past July. We only had a little more than a week, so we went to Naples (including a day trip to Pompeii and to climb Vesuvius) and Rome (including a side trip to Santa Severa, where we went to see the Mediterranean). We had a great time, except for the part where it took us nearly 24 hours to get to Naples and I was so stressed out that I forgot the name of the street our hotel was on. I also forgot that I had a book with a map of Naples in it. People must get lost in Naples fairly frequently, because there are big signs with maps actually in the street. All I had to do was look at that and it jogged my memory.
On the career stuff front, as of Friday, I am now a certified pharmacy technician. I just have to register with the state and I'm all set. I work at the pharmacy at my Walmart.
On the other writing stuff front, I've been doing a little freelance writing for content farms. I would like to "graduate" to being an actual freelance writer someday, but right now, I've got my hands full with what I am doing. I make a couple of hundred dollars a year at it, though, so that's something.
Here's one of my over a thousand pictures from Italy. I took this at the Castello Aragonese on Ischia.
