For anyone interested in the sport of Xtreme Accuracy in their fic, take a look here to see precise US Air Force appearance regulations. Jack may be in trouble: on the first page of Chapter 1, under Individuals' Responsibilities: "Members will not stand or walk with hands in pockets of any uniform combination, other than to insert or remove items."

Oooh, very useful. Thank you!

Sam's in trouble, too, apparently. Cosmetics (W) will not be "worn in field conditions." Heh.

Heh. They're such rebels. *g* But the show is mostly correct, from what I can tell - I've skimmed the document, trying to catch them out, but aside from the small-print and some hair issues, they seem to follow regs pretty closely. Darn it.

Argh, I'm such a geek. Glad I'm not the only one.

And I couldn't see anything about cosmetics for men... Looks like Jack is free to wear all the mascara and lipstick he wants. *g*

Although I may well have missed the appropriate paragraph.

hehe

I'm still working out the kinks of having to use US spelling in my fics - goddamn it, it just looks wrong

However I will admit to looking up BDUs to find out exactly what they look like :P

I used to use US spellings, because, y'know, US show and all... but I kept spelling things US-style at work, which was not good. Now I use British spellings, with Americanisms if and when I remember. No one seems to object.

At least, I think I use British spellings - my writing has become so mid-Atlantic that I can't remember what's correct... Worrying.

(I looked up formal dress first. It's fun! It's like Sam and Jack are real people! *g*)
