I had dinner with a long-time uni friend WL. Each time I see him, I am reminded of what the world values. The conversation always drifts in that direction. The world values achievement, wealth, status, and celebrate them. Sadly our worldview is so influenced by the prevailing culture, that we very much value the same things.
While we may sometimes toast to good health for example, we don't often wear the badge of good health loud and proud the way we might display symbols of wealth. Why don't we celebrate good health? Is it not more important than material wealth? It clearly is. I shall suggest to GV that we organise a party to celebrate Good Health. Yes, to revel in the fact that we do not fall ill every other week, and to serve as a reminder that no amount of money and power can buy the freedom afforded by a productive abled body.
