[The effects of the week old candy have come and gone, leaving China more embarrassed about the whole debacle than he would care to admit. Or at least this would be the case if he wasn't rather distracted at the moment.
What with a horse having a freakout on his lawn and all.
A fully-grown male warhorse, in fact; a beast bred to fight and conquer.
But eyes that would normally be deep, expressive and remarkably intelligent are clouded over with blind panic. Hooves flail about, a danger to anyone and everyone near, as the creature rears and whinnies and thrashes in utter fear. He doesn't know where he is; none of this is familiar; he is a prey animal acting out of the most primal instinct. The only reason he doesn't flee the nation's lawn is because China is there, right in the way, his human presence at once both distantly reassuring and completely terrifying. This is also the only reason he doesn't bash China's head in with his hooves; he's too frightened to even get that close.
China stands very still, speaking quiet nothings in Mandarin over and over until they register and the horse calms just enough to twitch nervously in place. He continues to murmur in this manner as he inches forward bit by bit with his palms up, cautiously but persistently, until the horse ceases his shying away and allows China near. Minutes slowly pass before the nation can so much as attempt to touch the creature without him jerking away again, quivering, letting out an anxious whinny or two. But when contact is finally permitted, the first move that China makes is to stroke that special spot between the horse's eyes....then the muzzle, and behind the ears.
The second thing he does is sing, very quietly and in his own language. Anything to help the horse realize that China means him no harm.
