Whew, what a year! I started the year all low key with no expectations and wham, bam, least year shall now forever more be defined as my year of travel.
March:
I spent my 27th birthday regressing back to childhood as I sent my birthday weekend with my sister at Disneyland Paris.
And going on rides that I have dreamt of going on for years and years.
Like Thunder Mountain:
And Star Tours:
And I'm most proudest of going on the Crush's Coaster and not blowing chunks:
April:
For Easter break, I took my parents on a holiday to Bali for my own version of Eat, Pray Love sans the self-pity. And I think I have found perfection:
This is definitely my heaven on earth:
And I managed to try some very lovely Balinese cuisine including the infamous Luak coffee, straight from the butt of a Sivet cat:
July:
My dear friend
canadian_turtle was kind enough to take to see Paul Simon perform at the Roundhouse to open the Itunes festival. And it rocked. Hard.
August:
I treated myself to a little holiday to the one country that I have not visited ever in the years that I have lived in Europe. Despite my preconceptions of Belgium (being dull) were somewhat true, I did discover another side of Belgium that I liked very much:
That being raspberry beer:
And beautiful Art Deco:
And some awesome castles with cool torture chambers within in Ghent:
November:
I visited a place which I have dreamt of visiting since I was 14 years old who watched "You've Got Mail". And my Thanksgiving romp in the Big Apple was definitely not disappointed. Not all all.
A cheesy shot but it definitely took my breath away.
It was very odd to see places that I have only ever seen on telly and it somewhat felt father odd as if the whole place was a set but not.
The only problem was that 5 days was definitely not enough to enjoy everything that this island has to offer.
And one big highlight of this trip was to see this guy in action on Broadway and meeting him.
Squee!
And meeting some amazing Starkids on the SPACE tour.
Yay! Brian Holden!
And ending my perfect NYC trip with a perfect bang with the Unholy trinity of Joes at the PIT.
December:
I have also spent Christmas with my whole family and visited Andalucia and Cornwall over the Christmas break but I haven't had to upload any pics.
So all in all, a very good year. I doubt that this year will be as exciting but there are possibilities floating in the air (Japan, Disneyworld?, Rome) that I'm sure will make the coming year quite interesting.
