isLove Generator So all this did was randomly pick my interests ... that's a little boring, and not very complicated. I do like the colors though. That's really why I posted this. For the colors. yay :-)
In other news, I just took a two-day workshop on teaching pre-AP and while the workshop itself was pretty boring and worhtless, it was nice to be in a setting where we saw some deeper and more interesting math going on. It got me wishing that I could teach an Applied Math class or a Mathematical models class. Who knows, maybe that's a direction I'll take after a bit of time off. It's just so much more interesting to talk about rates and proportions from an applied perspective rather than "here's a proportion, solve it by doing cross-products" blah blah blah. I'd teach the applied stuff, but it's not in the book so I have to make all the problems and homework and things by hand. I just don't have the energy and the time right now to do that. Oh well, I'll work it in when I can, and maybe if I ever go back to teaching after this year I can be more prepared. We'll see.
I'm excited for the weekend. It's very cool out - the high was only 70, and it's overcast. I love this kind of weather - cool, crisp, with an impending storm. It makes me want to either A) go play football or otherwise be outside playing or B) curl up on the sofa with a book and a cup of hot apple cider or hot chocolate. This is the weather I've been missing. yay :-)
Tomorrow I'm off to Barnes and Noble to do work, with a quick stop at Wild Oats for fresh mozzerella, freshly ground peanut butter, and pistachios, then on Sunday I'll be cleaning the apartment and finishing unpacking. Next week is a short week because we have early release for Parent/Teacher Conferences and a day "off" for staff development, and then the week after we have two days for staff development (the entire state of Arkansas is off - the union has a big workshop in Little Rock, so everyone has Thursday and Friday off and you can either go to Little Rock or stay in your district.) These next two weeks are going to fly.
That's all from me. Happy Friday!
