Well, last day of BFA classes. Ever!
Last day of other classes tomorrow. More rehearsals, though. Honors projects close tonight. Last Super Saturday just around the corner. Then finals.
Man.
For light lab today the tech crew threw a huge bbq for the staff and labbies, and a bunch of us went down to the beach afterwards. Didn't have a swim suit, but jumped in anyway, and how wonderful! The first really hot day of summer, and the calm ocean. I floated and laughed and am now salty and sunned and content.
I had a bit of time to kill before seeing a dance concert, so on a whim I looked up this old tape I used to watch called "Baby Songs" on youtube. And I found it! The whole thing, in increments! And I watched it and oh, how strange!
Anyone who is in the habit of calling me the iSprout knows that words and music stick in my brain. And these songs- so silly and fun, with titles like "Don't Wash My Blankie Today" and "Today I Took My Diapers Off" are so so deeply ingrained in my memory; I remembered every moment of every video, each little kid that for some reason stuck out to me. Which ones seemed like the "big kids," who can't be more than six or seven years old. Funny, to be returning to that on my last day of college classes.
I got a little emotional watching "My Mommy Comes Back." Good lord. If I ever have kids, I'm getting this tape for them if I have to go to the ends of the earth to find it.
Anyway. A beautiful day, full of the ocean, hamburgers, and reflection. Love you all, and especially today I cannot wait to come home.
