New campaign for me to support. I'll admit it -- Bono's starting to grow on me.
Want to help treat AIDS? Buy a cellphone. I love it. I'm all over the tees and the Converse. And the thing I find particularly interesting about it is that, in contrast with the LIVESTRONG campaign (which is genius in its own way), the founders of the campaign actually wants the retailers (Gap, Armani, Motorola) to make a profit off of the sale of Red products:
“I could go with my begging bowl every year to a major corporation and say ‘give me some money,’ and they might give me a one-off contribution, but it wouldn’t be large and it wouldn’t be sustainable,” Dr. Feachem said. “Red is intrinsically sustainable because Red is good for the companies.”
I hope they can get some younger demographics into it -- it'd be nice to see this stuff in American Eagle and Target too.
Also... I love the
Clinton Global Initiative. I love Clinton. Not so much Hilary... but definitely Bill. And also... I didn't know that
Newman's Own was a charity brand!
