Oh, yay! I feel like such a problem solver. Microsoft Word has been freezing at the splash screen for eons now, and I finally got so annoyed that I decided to make an attempt to fix it. And I did! It took a bit of time -- renaming the Normal.dot file, deleting registry keys, deleting a phantom fax machine -- but it finally turned out to be some ridiculous glitch with Norton Anti-Virus. Go figure.
But yeah! It always makes me feel better, to know that I can deal with issues on my own sometimes.
Now, hopefully, the fix will stick.
