So, I met my mentors for summer research on Tuesday and one is Canadian and the other is Australian, so they have awesome accents! The Canadian says aboot, and I have to try not to laugh whenever I hear it. But anyways, I'll be studying cladophera, which is the algae that makes the lake stink! I'm working at UWM now, which is a lot easier to get too, although I kind of miss working at the Water Institute, because that's where everybody else works, so I barely ever get to see them. I really like the other people doing the REU this summer; we bonded pretty quickly, which might have something to do with the clown car we drove to work every day (we were trying to bring as few cars as possible there, so we had people sitting on other people's laps). Now, though, I only get to see them on Fridays when we go to the water institute for lunch talks (and later we go out dancing).

Last Friday, the other girls from the REU and I took salsa lessons from Juan, our sexy gay latin dance instructor. It was a lot of fun, but I was absolutely terrible! I just don't have enough coordination I geuss, but maybe I'll get better. We plan on going every Friday. We need more guys to dance with, though because there were only 3 older men there, and there were 6 of us and about 5 other women. So, if any of you guys who read this want to come, let me know!

I also started yoga this week (and Miss Moon was conspicuously absent). I hadn't done it in a while and I've never been flexible, so I was really bad, but I always feel really good after yoga anyways. It stretched out my shoulders alot, which is good because years and years of carrying a heavy backpack has caused them to slope forwards.
