New Star Discovery
So today, there was a New Star Discovery event at a local mall that we attended and registered Jana for. We figured it would be an interesting experience if anything. So we entered her in the 23-35 mo category of the Baby Search Event. Registration was $50 with an extra $5 for additional categories. We just stuck with the main event since I was concerned with how she would respond by being on stage.
As it turned out, she not only loved being on stage and waving at everyone, but I had to drag her off stage. :) So first thing she did was wave at the audience then the judges; next she did her recent discovery, turtle hand puppet for the judges; and then she twirled. During this whole thing, the announcer was saying stuff that I don't remember hearing however Michael did notice that when they mentioned the turtle, that's when Jana happened to do it.

And here's a photo with Jana and her tiara and trophy for winning in her category! Well, there were only two other girls in her category. On the bright side, she won (in addition to the tiara and trophy):
* $200 entry for the State Final pre-paid (April in Carlisle, PA)
* A sitting with a fashion and commercial photographer in Chicago (supposed value $350)
* Portrait Package at Sears
Anyway, so yeah, we seriously are considering going to Chicago for the shoot. Coincidentally, we've been wanting a high-end photography session for her and were talking about having it down either in LA or NY while we're visiting family. But Chicago can work, although we don't think we have any family in Chicago. Guess it's miles and points redemption time.
