Well, of the thousand or so lady bugs my neighbor purchased, I have been able to only find about 11-12 in the courtyard. With about 9-10 of those in my postage stamp garden. I'm mixed. I'm glad I have lady bugs, but are they here because they have a lot to eat?

We had a "picnic" at work. The theme was biker-related. Everyone got temp tattoos and an orange and black flaming bandana. I was also able to bring home a bike mylar balloon, which Jana happily clamored, "bago!" on the ride home. That has been her consistent word for bike, bicycle, tricycle, scooter or moped. She has also chosen, "ga-boo" for airplanes and helicopters.

And all bugs seem to be, "bees."

My wonder light is now about 6'6" tall. I approximate about 100 fruits on it at the moment. I don't particularly care to further velcro branches to the trellis, I'm afraid of really poor air circulation around the bottom middle and then getting a bad case of early blight. I thinned out 2 more carrots this morning, to find one partially eaten already. Blah.

Last night, I sowed:
Acorn Squash
Crooked Neck Squash
Medley Summar Squash
Hybrid Hanging Pepper (a sweet pepper with a hint of apple taste)

I thought I may be able to reclaim the broccoli plant spaces by now, but it doesn't look like it'll be soon. It does look like a couple more weeks for at least one of the potato buckets. We'll see.

Hmm, I forgot to clip some of the raspberries to make a bunch of grafts. I'm thinking of growing more in the courtyard since Jana is absolutely hooked now. I'm hoping I can do this without having to buy any rooting hormones.

Oh, and Jana planted more cilantro seeds last night. I did pull 2 grape tomatoes off the upside-down tomato plant in my office, there are 3 more that I'm waiting for to harvest. And then that's it. I keep more door closed mostly to keep people walking by from staring at it.

Pondering:
Jana loves couscous. How the heck do I serve it and minimize the major cleaning up afterwards that comes with itty bitty pieces of semolina.
