Quickie Catch Up

I think I forgot to log this... either last week or 2 weeks ago, Jana's teachers told me that she's putting together sentences now.

A bunch of other toddlers were jumping and she came up to them and clearly said, "I like that!" Later that day, a toddler was banging on a chair, she approached him or her and said, "I don't like that."

Last night, I ran back to my car to get the DSLR out before I forget (it's tough coming home juggling purse, laptop and toddler). Apparently Jana ran to the kitchen and came back to the living room, looked at Michael and asked, "Where went mom?" He told her that I went to the car and will be right back, she ran to the door to look out, then went back to playing. Wow.

We had a busy long weekend. We went to Reading, PA for the country's largest WWII re-enactment. We were photographer volunteers for the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum. Bad rain on Friday, but Saturday and Sunday turned out great. We actually went on the road Thu evening, but I had forgotten my laptop a/c adapter and well, we got off the turnpike and came back home. It turned out for the best. We left after lunch on Friday and missed most of the flash flood-type rain.

Michael dressed as an Army War Correspondent photographer. I bought a museum tee to work the photo cd sales booth with Jana. It turned out that my shift was Friday and so much for giving photographers 1.5 hr shifts. Michael worked most of Saturday and Sunday morning.

The biggest kicker was he got to ride on a B-24 Liberator! They asked for all volunteers to shoot video if possible. So we borrowed a Sony VX2100 from work to shoot "some" video. Well, I guess a lot of folks wouldn't necessarily have one of these to bring. As a result, they kept asking Michael to shoot lots and lots of video. And that's how he got a seat on the B-24. They wanted video from the bomber. They gave him 5 minutes to get himself together to go on the plane. That meant handing off the camera bag (it's REALLY BIG) and one of the DSLRs. I already had Jana in a backpack carrier on me. I really felt like a pack mule.

Here are some photos from the event:

This was is for Jana's Uncle Doy.

This one was a recreation of a marine camp at Bataan.
