Gardening Spectator Day

Jul 12, 2008 22:21

At home, Michael helped harvest about 10 garlic bulbs.

At the community garden, Jana got busy retiring her peas. She cut up her plants and filled the bucket 3 times before she let me talk her into leaving.

While waiting for Jana to finish her work, I took these photos...

We have silks on the stalks!

Bagged blossoms on my cherry roma tomatoes that now have fruit. I went ahead and removed the bag, cut the pink ribbon and tied it on the branch so I know not to eat those tomatoes, but to save seeds.

Quotable:
While Jana was retiring her spent pea plants, she said, "Mom, my peas died because we don't have aqua globes."

garlic, garden, jana, corn, peas, quotables
