The monthly interest on the savings account we opened does compound monthly, but apparently the equation for calculating the interest is a lot more complex than I thought, so we aren't getting anywhere near what I expected, but it is still really high relatively. I set up my 401k, but I still have to do some research about how to invest my money. I have it all in one spot right now, and I think I want to mix it up a bit.

The plants that we planted are all doing quite well, except for the coleus which tragically died. We think it got either too much water or too much sun... the description of it's ideal conditions that was posted with it at Wal-Mart turned out to be quite a bit different from what found about it online. Oh well.

We had the very ambitious idea to clear out all of the leaves that have been dumped underneath our magnolia tree in the front yard. We wanted to make it look nicer, and maybe plant some flowers and put a bench under there or something. To give you an idea of the magnitude of that leaf pile, it surrounds the base of the tree at a diameter of maybe 15 ft or so, and if you walk into the pile, the leaves will come up about to mid-thigh. We got a few estimates, not having the time to take care of it ourselves, and ended up hiring a neighborhood kid (I call him a kid, but he's about our age, maybe a couple years younger) to haul them away in his truck for a ridiculously good price. He barely got started before he realized what he had gotten himself into, so now we are back to square one. I'm trying to decide if it's even worth it to do anything about it now, or if we should put it off until next year. I was toying with the idea of burning the leaves, which is still fair game until May 1, but I'm not sure how I feel about that... we shall see.

We spent last weekend with Spiffy at her grandparent's place in Bent Tree, which was amazing. Saturday was dreary, so we got up there later in the afternoon and spent the evening in playing canasta, eating brownie cupcake sundays, and just talking with Spiff. Sunday was nice so we went adventuring and caught some awesome critters, including a couple of snakes. Brian caught a really cute but sad looking snake that has mites, and then I caught a 2ft long banded water snake that was totally badass. Spiffy and Brian were party poopers, though, and wouldn't let me keep it =/.

This weekend was also really good, but tiring. Friday night, Kyle, Stephanie and Stephen came over and we all watched BSG and then had a Mario Party. Cupcakes were also enjoyed. Brian and I did a lot of work around the house on Saturday and did a lot of straightening up. We can now park both of our cars in the carport, which is nice. We took a LOT of stuff to Goodwill, so there's a lot less clutter. Also nice. Yesterday we went to the zoo with my hubby. He works for IBM, and they were having a Spring Fling type deal where the employees and their guests got in for free, including free refreshments. It was so packed it took us over 30 minutes to find a parking spot. But once we were in it was really nice. Kive's friends are all really cool. My sister was there, so I made fun of her a lot. Everyone else was teasing her, too, so I didn't feel so bad. We got home from the zoo around 8:30 and I crashed. Napped for a couple of hours before John and Alexis came over for some SMB3. Sadly, it had been a while since I last played it and I was severely off my game. But that just means I need some practice, and if there is one thing I don't mind practicing it's SMB3.

So yeah. I have been incredibly fatigued lately and I have no idea why. I do get paranoid about it at times (read: mysterious illness freshman year of college), but I think it's just that I'm generally not very healthy... I really don't eat much at all during the day, because I am so inactive. I sit on my butt for 9 hours M-F, so since I'm not using up any calories, I don't get hungry, so I don't eat unless it's a snack that I happen to be craving. Then when I actually do stuff on the weekends that require energy, I use up what I have very quickly and then crash. So yeah... I am really feeling the need to get into better shape now that I have this office job. When it was BHV 5 days a week I could pretend like I got enough exercise just out of the nature of that job. But not here. There's a free fitness center here I have access to, so I could easily work out after my shift, but the thing is... I hate doing stuff like that by myself. I get bored and have no motivation. I need a buddy to exercise with. If only I weren't so lazy....

I really want to wax philosophical about Battlestar. I need to geek out, hardcore. I am simultaneously depressed that this is the last season and elated about everything finally coming together. Season 4 has so far contained several unexpected revelations, so I'm excited to see where it goes.

I'm going to CT on Weds to meet my new Aunt Kay. I'm going to try to see as many non-relatives as possible while I'm up there. Micaela is planning to come down Friday night/Saturday to hang out with me, and I'm going to try to catch Tyler and Stephen while we're in NY on the way in/out. At first I thought this little "family reunion" of sorts wouldn't allow for that, but mom and grandma are cool with it which is nice. I'll be back Sunday afternoon.

I'm hoping to get a lot more done with the house over the next few weeks, and if all goes smoothly and according to plan, we are thinking about having a cookout towards the end of the month/early May. I will keep you all posted =)

That's all for now <3
