Fun with landscaping

Since Spring is finally starting to show itself, Brian and I have been working in the yard a lot this past week. We're getting the last of the leaves cleared away (with a little professional help for the massive stockpile under the Magnolia tree) and have been doing a lot of planting. We planted a fair amount of stuff amidst all the nasty stormy weather Friday and Saturday, since the ground was nice and wet (Gwinnett still has in effect a full ban on outdoor watering, so we have to rely on nature to help us out with that.)

Anyways. Brian completely refurbished the flower garden around the lamp post with lillies, dianthus, mondo grass, daffodils, and a lovely azalea.

Around the mailbox, he placed a couple of large rocks, surrounded by some gorgeous sun coleus
and phlox.

Then on the left side of the driveway, up by the fence, I planted a quince and a rhododendron, and Brian planted some more English Ivy to match what's growing along the fence closer to the house.

In the gap between the bushed to the left of the driveway we planted 2 new azaleas, and at the end of the row of bushes, closer to the street, we planted a small hydrangea.

We're planning to line the driveway with monkey grass, and once the area under the magnolia tree is cleared out we'll likely plant some stuff there too. I'm excited! Once we get everything all nice and prettified, and get a little more done inside the house as well, we're likely going to have a cook-out so we have a reason to invite everyone over and show it off =)
