So, the new job is going really well. I like it a lot, and the people are all wonderful. It is a little strange, being contracted, as there really isn't much in the way of job security and I'm not used to that. However, everyone seems to think that I'm doing very well, so that's encouraging. Three other contracted employees had their contracts terminated last week, so things have been pretty busy without as many people available to take calls. I was asked to take over the pending claims for one of the girls who was let go, which is kind of annoying since she did a lot of stuff wrong that I have to figure out how to fix, but also a pretty good sign (I think) that I'm doing something right, especially since this is really only my third week not counting training. Aside from answering phones, I also file Satisfaction Guarantee claims, which is exactly what it sounds like, and Product Quality Complaints, which is when there's a defect in the packaging. It's pretty easy, but there's enough variety to keep it interesting. I am on a fixed schedule M-F 11am-8pm, which I'm very pleased about because I don't have to get up early and fight traffic. However, I do have to dress like a 'professional,' which is not exactly my thing. I'm getting over it.
I am still working weekends at BHV still, and it's really strange not being there every day. I miss the dogs terribly, and I feel so out of the loop. I usually work noon or 2pm-9pm on Saturdays and noon-7pm Sundays. As you can imagine, I've been pretty busy, so I'm sorry if I've been scarce. I still love all you guys <3. I usually take a weekend day off every 2 or 3 weeks, but I'm usually too tired by then to do anything. I do have the next two weekends (after this one) off, but they are tied up with wedding stuff.
I am a bridesmaid in Stephanie Hanna's wedding, if you weren't aware, and the wedding is just over 2 weeks away! It's so exciting. I've never been a bridesmaid before and had no clue how much was involved in it, but it's totally worth it. I am so honored to be a part of her wedding. <3<3<3
Living at the house again is soooo nice. Jeff is a great roommate, and we finally found someone to rent the other room, starting in November, so I'm excited about that. It's such a relief to finally have some stability, financially and residentially speaking. Brian's car is mostly recovered, which is a great relief as well, but it's still pretty much at the end of it's rope, so my goal once we have another roommate contributing to the rent is to save enough up for a good downpayment on a new car for him by the end of next semester. It will be kind of a surprise, but one that I fantasize about aloud. You know how that goes ;) He doesn't read this so it doesn't matter if I put it here, teehee.
I'm finally getting my crown done next week, too. That's $800, which is apparently a good deal. That combined with the wedding costs leave me pretty strapped for this month, but November should be much better. But then - Christmas! Will it never end?
I really have nothing to say, honestly. Just thought I would update everyone on how things have developed over the past month. If you feel like hanging out after 8 or 9pm, please come by, I would likely love to see you and I usually have fresh baked cookies =)
